OK so I have the 3rd pick in a 12 team leauge with 1/2 a point per reception, and the guy with the 1st pick is offering to trade me the 1st pick for my 3rd and then switching places with him in rounds 2 and 4. So insted of picking 3, 22, 27, 46 I would be picking 1, 24, 27, 48 in the first 4 rounds. Basically just dropping back 2 spots in rounds 2 and 4.

Is this worth it?

Interesting deal. I'd definitely take it and the reason is I believe that Adrian Peterson will have a great year but I'm far from sold on guys like Turner, Forte, D Williams, and Jones-Drew to produce like a #3 pick should. Peterson has injury concerns but has more potential than anyone and I'd make the move.

I would not take the deal. In a ppr league, Jones Drew or Forte may be worth more than ADP as they will catch 50 more balls at least than he will....Drew may have more TD's than Peterson alone and Forte will have a big season...wouldnt do that deal, tell him thx but no thx

counter offer

I would take the deal regardless, but I would counter offer for a switch in the 5th round. He must have a reason why he wants to trade away his #1 pick, so take advantage by getting MORE. If he doesn't take that then offer a last chance switch in the 7th round.

The .5 PPR makes a difference and may close some of the gap between Peterson/Turner and Forte/MJD/and others, but not enough of one. You can't be too certain that MJD can carry the workload all by his lonesome. It may seem like a plus that he's going to get all the reps, but it may lead to an injury or a fade late in the season. I like Forte, but you can't compare him to Peterson. (Consider handcuffing him with C. Taylor if he is still around in the later rounds and the value seems right.)

To move up and grab Peterson is much larger of a gain than what you will lose in the 2nd and 4th rounds, which may be nothing if the guy you want in those rounds is still there two picks later, which he usually will be. :toast:

thanks for the advice guys. I'm still unsure what I will do. In my projections I acutally have MJD scoring 3 more points than Peterson, cause of the receptions. But the worry is that MJD has never had to carry the full load. The reason I would like to stay at #22 is that in this league a few of the guys are dumb as rocks. The guys with the #2 pick might take Brees. Brees, Brady and Manning will all be gone before pick #19 I guarantee that. So with that said a guy like Marion Barber or even maybe Clinton Portis might still be there at #22. If I drop back the guy that I will be trading with will take that last stud RB. I could still get Kevin Smith or Ronnie Brown with pick 27, but a MJD, Portis backfield sounds better to me than Peterson, Ronnie Brown.

You may be able to get MJD and still get Ronnie Brown (whom I think will have a breakout year) its his contract year and the coaches are raving about him...I dont think Id make the deal honestly. AP is a beast but in ppr leagues Id rather leave him for someone else or at least for them to make the decision on drafting him or not. Heck the guy may not even be planning on drafting him 1-1
